Endangered Species Report

 

Find an organism that is currently on the endangered species list.  You must clear this organism with me before you proceed.  Include the following information in a report about your organism, in the following order.  Please include all headings.  The report does not have to be typed, but should be neatly presented.

 

Title Page:             Common name of your organism, color picture of your organism

Classification:       Kingdom, phylum and scientific name of your organism

Range:                    A map showing where (continents and countries) in the world your organism is found

Habitat:                  A paragraph describing the habitat where your organism lives

Diet:                        A paragraph showing what naturally eats and is eaten by your organism.  Include a food web

Propagation:         How your organism reproduce naturally

Stats:                      When did your organism become endangered? How long has it been on the endangered species list? How many organisms remain?  There should be some information with an actual number in this section.

Conservation:       Through what act(s) of man has this organism become endangered

                                What acts of man can be done to preserve this organism

Presentation:         3 minutes to the class

 

This report is worth 45 points and is due to be presented this Tuesday, May 6th.  Each area will receive the following scale:

5 points                  went over and above the requirements

4 points                  met the requirements

3 points                  Questionable whether all requirements were met and completed

2 points                  met some of the requirements

1 point                    barely mentioned requirements

0 points                  did not touch on requirements
